Plantzilla by Jerdine Nolen

My drama teacher read it half to us in class and I liked it then I borrowed the book from public library and I finished reading at home.
In the story, the boy named Mortimer likes plantzilla and Mortimer’s parents don’t let Mortimer keep plantzilla because Mortimer played too much time with plantzilla. They would like Mortimer played more time in the Park. During summer, plantzilla grows up and Mortimer waters and cares for plantzilla. It is a surprise that plantzilla, the plant is beginning to eat real food and the plant could play hockey with Mortimer and plantzilla can write letter and finally plantzilla found a perfect home and it is Mortimer’s home.
I like this book because I can image Mortimer takes care of plantzilla like a baby and plant can grow up like human beings.

Magic School Bus Series By Patricia Relf

I like "Magic school bus" because it is fun and the magic school bus can fly. It can turn into a boat and I could sail with it in the sea(“The magic school bus ups and downs: A book about floating and sinking”). It can turn into a spaceship and I could surf in the space with it(“The magic school bus –Space Adventures). It can turn into a ladybug or a bee and I could crawl in the flowers with it(“The Magic School Bus Inside a Beehive). It also can turn as small as our food and go into someone's mouth and I could go through someone's inside body(“The magic school bus Inside the Human Body”). They always go on adventures and I like adventures. That is why I like magic school bus books. I will read more magic school bus books.

Kate Larkin, the Bone Expert by Lindsey Tate

I read the whole book of “the Bone Expert” without stop. The story is about a girl called Kate Larkin. She has a broken bone on her arm. So she went to the hospital and she waited for long time and met a doctor. She asked the doctor how the X-ray works. After a few weeks, she rode bike again. I like the book because I could learn more about hospital and bones. There are also experiments in this book.
I know there are 206 bones in the human body already. From the book, I learned that Arm bones heal faster than leg bones and Calcium helps make bones hard. So I will drink lots of milk!

Dora’s camping trip by Wendy Wax

I like Dora’s explorer books because I am a girl and like adventures just like her. In the story she goes camping to friendly woods with her best friend Boots but they have to meet her family at campsite in friendly woods. She came with Boots, the monkey with yellow tummy. She had some helps from Boots, Map and backpack. First they cross the bridge, second they wear life jacket from backpack and pass the lake with a canoe and oars and finally they get to friendly forest to meet her family. Then they build a tent and set campfire for roasting marshmallows.
I went to camping with my family, too. So I like this book. I stayed the campsite for three days and went to beach for swimming, playing sand toys, finding seashells and rest in the sun. And we went hiking and saw butterflies, birds, flowers and trees. We built tent, cooked BBQ chicken and set campfire and slept in the tent at night. Except I don’t like the bad weather, big storm at night.

Fancy Nancy - The Dazzling book report by Jan O’Connor

I like Fancy Nancy because she is fancy and the book is colourful. I like reading books just like Fancy Nancy. The story is about Fancy Nancy’s class goes to library and her teacher asks them to write and draw a book report. Fancy Nancy’s mother takes her to store to buy supplies for her book report. Fancy Nancy works too much on the report cover and don’t have time to write the report. When she hears other presentations, she feels nervous and she tells her teacher the reason. Her teacher understands and tells her just to tell the class about the book. She passes the report. Also I learned some Fancy words, PLUME – Feather, Dazzling – eye-popping and a knockout and Thrilling – even more exciting than exciting and so on.
I like Fancy Nancy because she is so fancy.

Do You Want to Be My Friend? by Eric Carle

My mother and I could not find the book of "Do you want to be my friend?" in public library. When we saw the author of book, we realized that it must be the same author of "The very hungry Caterpillar" and "Polar bear, Polar bear, what do you see?". I would like to recommend "The very hungry Caterpillar" by the same author to everyone. When I was in daycare, teacher read it to me. When I was in Junior Kindergarten, I read it by myself. Now I am in Grade 1, I read it to my little sister. Maybe that is why the author said "For my sister Christa" in the beginning of the book. Now I could almost remember all the words in the book and my little sister like to listen to my reading the book. "In the light of the moon a little egg lay on a leaf..."
Both of my little sister and myself like it. Why?
First, it is an interesting story. The story is about a little egg changing to a little caterpillar and eating a lot of food and changing to a beautiful butterfly! Second, it has beautiful paintings. The pictures in the books are colourful and drew by paint (I think). Third, we could learn a lot of things from the story like the days of one week from Sunday to Saturday, fruits and colors and so on. It is real nature. Finally, it is simple. I could and would like to read it again and again.
