The Magician’s Nephew

Recently I read a book called “The magician’s nephew. It is a great book for anyone who likes magic. It is a Chronicles of Narnia book and the first one in the series. It is also a major motion picture. It is written by C.S.Lewis.

This book was about two friends named Dingory and Polly who happen to find two magic rings made by Dingory’s uncle. The rings take them to other worlds. Dingory’s uncle temps Polly to touch a green ring. She touches it and vanishes. Dingory goes there by touching a green ring with 2 yellow rings to take them back. He goes there and finds Polly in the world of Narnia and pools leading to other worlds.

Polly and Dingory go in one pool which leads them to the world of Charn. Dingory rings a bell and find a statue turned into a Queen. The Queen who is actually a witch chases them into their world (earth) and tries to rule earth. Dingory zaps himself, Polly and the witch back to Narnia. He finds that he also zapped his uncle, a horse and the horse owner. Suddenly, a magic lion appears and scares away the witch. Dingory and Polly then get sent on a mission to get a special apple to protect Narnia from the witch. I’m going to stop the story here so you can read the rest to find out what happens next.

My favourite part of the book is when Polly and Dingory get sent to find the apple. I like this part because it was very exciting and was nervous about the dangers they would face. I would change the part in the story where Dingory’s uncle temps Polly to touch a ring because he does not want to go into so much danger. I thought Dingory’s uncle would be nice. I would make Polly and Dingory find the rings and touch them. This book reminds me of the book “The Giant Slayer” because both books were magical. This book is so exciting I was excited the whole time.

This was a great book. I give it an ages 8+ because is a pretty long book. I would give it 5 stars out of five. I really recommend it.
