I just finished a book called Drylongso. This book is by an author named Virginia Hamilton. Virginia Hamilton is a really great author because first, she isn't black, not to be racist, and even though she isn't black, she writes all these great books that teach kids not to be racist and how black people are not different from any other race. Some of her books are Zeely, The House of Dies Drear, The Planet of Junior Brown, and lots more. Here's a link if you guys want to check out her web: http://www.virginiahamilton.com/ . Now to the summary of Drylongso.
Time was when the ground was really, really dry, and rainstorms was almost history. The wind kept blowing non-stop away clouds, so it can't rain, the sun scorched everything in it's sight, and people wondered why theirs and other people's fields and streams and river were all dried up for so long. Then one day, a horrific wall of dust and sand rose up and swept the landscape, turning day into night. Running away from the wall was a black boy named Drylongso, desperately trying to survive. And with him he brought a hope for water.
I totally enjoyed this book because first, Virginia Hamilton is a great author, I like books that are against racism, and I just liked it.I recommend this book to everyone, either white or black, and hope all of you will enjoy it. This is my report on this great book: Drylongso.
Alex you made an extremely important point in your book report: everyone has a responsibility educating people to condemn racism because we are all part of the human race, as a united one.
ReplyDeleteI am eager to know plots of the book, but you only reveal little detail; maybe you did it intentionally so we will read the book lol. anyways, appreciate your insightful lesson.
